just another day...

i come across all sorts of things on my commute to work now. the only persistent thing is a ring of keys made for babies. who knows how long its been thrown on the side of the road. recently i've seen santa and some sort of purple alien too. for a while there was a loaf of bread, but i think the rains finally washed it away. i have the feeling my racoon, fox, and squirrel friends will be gone fairly soon. how long will they take to rot? the smell pretty bad and yet nobody cares because everyone is zipping along in their boxes. i carry my camera always, but i rarely take any pictures anymore. here is one i enjoyed...

i'd like to go somewhere to talk for a change. everyone always says i'm too quiet. i think it's just the ambience. i'm not a yeller. alas! noone is ever up for a chat when i am. it sucks always being out of sync.

my week in shortened form

so the past couple of days have been sort of routine. i've started commuting to work on bicycle, and during one of my attempts to find an exact replacement for the tail light, i found this website promoting commuting to work on electric bikes. they had this interesting tool which allows you to calculate savings in fuel among other things. below are my results.

we have a new member to the family! i got caught up in my futurebike post and totally forgot to mention it. her name is mohini. she is named after a famous white tiger. the name means enchantress. oddly enough someone called at work and that the caller's name. i told her i liked her name, but mentioned nothing that it was my new cat's name. i didn't want to insult her....well i don't know. maybe it would only be an insult if it was a dog?  anywho i'm sure mohini will be a regular on my pictures now. she's like a teenager...she still has her curious moments, but for the most part she is calm and friendly. i am enchanted by my cat, haha. not everyone was thrilled about mohini, so her full name is actually bella mohini. i will call her mohini and anyone who doesn't like that name can call her bella.

so tomorrow will be my 5th day commuting to work on bike. i am excited (although somewhat sore)! today i took an alternate route home and took this picture of the highway. the highway seems quite a bit bigger than when you're driving around in a car. today was a day for alternates, i guess. instead of going to the franchise taco cabana, i stopped into a small mexican restaurant on the way to work. it was cheaper, faster, and better! i am stopping there when i want tacos from now on.

well, sorry to be short and sweet, but it is almost 2am and that is not good. i should have been asleep an hour ago!
